Unvermögen im Irak – Versäumnisse “kriminell”

Klare Worte in englischer Sprache und auch noch von einem Republikaner, der auch noch schreiben kann, nämlich ein sogenanntes “Memorandum”:

In a confidential memo, a long-time Republican operative who has served in the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad for the past year says the State Department’s efforts in Iraq are so poorly managed they “would be considered willfully negligent if not criminal” if done in the private sector.

Och, vielleicht will ja doch niemand Frieden und Stabilität im Nahen Osten?

Aber der Amerikaner hat dem unterentwickelten Iraker doch Freiheit und Demokratie gebracht, oder doch etwas ganz anderes?

“We have brought to Iraq the worst of America — our bureaucrats,”

Sonst noch was?

“The American and Iraqi people deserve better.”
